According to Greek mythology in Vulcano were found the forges of Hephaestus, god of fire and blacksmith.
On the island you can observe phenomena of volcanic origin: fumaroles, jets of steam both on the ridge and submarines, and sulphurous mud with appreciated therapeutic properties.
